Art Therapy: Celtic – A Review

If you like Celtic art and designs then you’ll love this book. Filled with 100 traditional Celtic images, this book contains a huge variety of Celtic knots, geometric patterns and mythical creatures. Almost all of the designs are drawn with the same outline thickness. This isn’t super thin like some books but also isn’t especially bold so if you struggle to keep within the lines or have vision, co-ordination or fine motor control issues, then this may not be the book for you (see photos below to check). The images in this book are as you’d expect them to be, they’re not pretty or girly so may not be everyone’s cup of tea but they’re very traditional Celtic images with lovely interlocking shapes and fascinating creatures. This book would also be well-suited to the growing number of male colourers who are not so interested in colouring in delicate flowers and fairies and maybe want something more masculine and structured that they can still express their creative flair onto. The image below was coloured using Marco Raffine pencils and Stabilo Point 88 fineliners.
